The Internal Recognition Committee's Academic Scholarship Subcommittee is an all-college committee that works to help outstanding students obtain scholarships and awards. More scholarships are available through the Scholarship Portal.

American Association of University Women

The scholarship program of the Las Vegas branch of the American Association of University Women recognizes and supports education for women. Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded for those students who will be juniors or seniors at UNLV or NSC during the 2017-2018 academic year to aid the advancement of women's educational and career goals. Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

Students studying mathematics, sciences or engineering are encouraged to apply for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship to receive up to $7,500 per year for two years. Students should apply directly online by January 5, 2018. For questions, contact Lynn Best at CSN.

Boren Scholarships/Fellowships

Boren Awards for International Studies provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad with a focus on less commonly taught languages, including but not limited to Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili. Interested students should contact CSN's Boren campus representative Professor David Leavell to apply. The Boren Scholarship application deadline is February 8, 2018.


Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship


This scholarship awards recipients up to $40,000 a year to transfer from a community college to a four-year school to obtain a bachelor's degree. Students can apply for this award online. For questions, contact Lynn Best. Applications for this award must be submitted by October 13, 2017.

Kim Gregory Memorial Scholarship

Second-year HVAC students should apply for the Kim Gregory Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship award is $1,000. Submit completed applications to Dennis Soukup before December 2018.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship

Full-time students interested in pursuing careers related to the environment or Native American or Alaskan Native students pursuing careers in tribal public policy or Native healthcare are eligible for the Morris K. Udall Scholarship, which provides an award up to $5,000. Interested students at CSN should submit a complete application to CSN Professor Paul Herrle before March 8, 2018. 

Regents' Scholar Award

The Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents' Scholar award provides a stipend to selected students. Nominations are due September 25, 2017, to Smita Rao and must be submitted by a CSN faculty or staff member.

SEMA Automotive Scholarships

Automotive students should apply for the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, which offers awards ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 and a full-tuition scholarship to attend Ohio Technical College. Students will apply directly to SEMA. For questions, contact CSN Professor John Ventura. Applications are due March 1, 2018.

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship

Students planning to pursue career or technical training may be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship. Over 1,000 awrds up to $2,500 each are available. Application will open March 2018. For questions, please contact Lynn Best.
