My name is Taylor Cayro and I am proud to be a Student Ambassador! When not helping students, I'm working towards my double major (Video Production and Journalism News Production). Storytelling has been my passion. In the near future, I plan on getting my Bachelor's degree in Video Production.

Hi! My name is Maryssa Morgan. I was born and raised in California and moved to Las Vegas with my family in 2015. I'm majoring in Elementary Ed. and I plan to transfer to UNLV to obtain my Bachelor's degree. Eventually, I want to receive my M.Ed. I'm grateful to be a Student Ambassador because I can help students reach their potential.

Hi! I’m Jenna Locanas. Being able to assist students and making sure they obtain the information they need to get to where they wanted to be is such a fulfilling thing for me as a student ambassador. Currently, I’m an Associate of Arts major and I plan to transfer to UNLV to pursue a bachelor’s degree in English.

The Student Ambassador Program showcases some of the best students that choose to give back to the CSN community by representing the college and providing great guidance and customer service to students. They are the student leaders and future leaders in our community.

What do Student Ambassadors do?

Student Ambassadors work in conjunction with the Department of Recruitment & College Connections in assisting students in the admissions process. They represent the College of Southern Nevada at local area high school events, business & industry events in the greater Las Vegas metro area, and other areas of educational outreach. On campus, Ambassadors serve as tour guides and assist with various events that promote CSN as the college of first choice.

Benefits of Becoming a Student Ambassador

In addition to developing leadership, mentoring, and public speaking skills, Student Ambassadors attain valuable work experience, enjoy a more fulfilling college life, and earn above-average hourly wages. Most rewarding of all, Student Ambassadors have an impact on the ability of the students they serve to complete their degrees.

Qualifications to Become a Student Ambassador

Student Ambassador Program applicants must be at least on their second term of enrollment at CSN, registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours in fall and spring, have earned a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher with 12 earned credit hours, and possess a valid NV driver's license. Preferred qualifications include ability to speak a second language (e.g., Spanish) and demonstrated previous public speaking experience.

Application Process

Applications are accepted twice a year, after fall grades and spring grades have posted. The due date is dynamic and will change with the academic calendar. Once a Student Ambassador position(s) become available via CSN's job posting webpage, students are asked to submit a cover letter, resume, and unofficial transcript.

Applicants will go through two sets of interviews (one group and one individual). Only applicants selected for a second interview will submit two signed letters of recommendation, a completed My Degree Plan that indicates the applicant's academic path from now through graduation, and next semester's schedule.
