Dental Hygiene Program
This rigorous program offers didactic, clinical and field experiences to prepare graduates to take their place as dental hygiene professionals. Dental hygienists are licensed members of the health care team who integrates the roles of educator, consumer advocate, practitioner, manager, change agent, and researcher to support total health through the promotion of oral health and wellness.
An Associate of Science (AS) Degree in Dental Hygiene and two Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Dental Hygiene are available. Our BS degrees are accredited by the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities, while our AS degree is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
Students earning an AS degree must complete the written National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and a clinical examination conducted by a state or regional board to become a licensed dental hygienist.
Earning a BS in Dental Hygiene allows dental hygiene professionals to expand their knowledge, roles and responsibilities within the field of education, or dental public health administration.
