Health Information Technology Program

Students in the Health Information Technology (HIT) Program are prepared to work with electronic health records in the ever-changing healthcare arena including organizing health information, compiling health statistics, coding disease diagnoses and enforcing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Our associate of applied science degree is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education.

NOTE: HIT is a limited entry program.  Students must attend a health programs orientation and meet with a health programs advisor for additional counseling prior to application.

Upon certification, our graduates can enjoy careers as registered heath information technicians in hospitals, long-term care facilities, government agencies and law firms among other industries.
