At the Career & Transfer Services (CATS) office we offer career exploration, job search assistance and transfer guidance to students and alumni. We help students define career goals through computerized assessments & career exploration activities. Our center also offers the Career & Technical Education Assistance Program (CTEAP) to provide assistance to students facing significant barriers to education and/or employment.

Career & Transfer Services also offers the CSN CareerLink system to manage all aspects of the Career Center. The system offers online resume review, local and national job postings and students the ability to post their resume for employer consideration.

We have partnered with the Southern Nevada chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to bring you a selection of employers looking to hire candidates over 40 years of age for a variety of positions. About Our Services

We are the One-Stop Career Center program that prepares young adults between the ages of 16-24 for the workforce through work-readiness workshops, trainings, leadership development and educational skills training. While all career pathways are promoted, we specialize in working with employers in the following in-demand fields: Health Care, Transportation & Logistics, and Advanced Manufacturing & Construction. The objective of the program is to ensure that young adults have the necessary skills to e employable in the workforce and connected to in-demand occupations or placed in post-secondary education at the end of the program.

Work Experience

A work experience/Internship is a structured paid learning experience that will provide youth a unique opportunity for career exploration and skill development.

Career Exploration

Process in which individual chooses an educational path or training or a job which fits their interests, skills and abilities.

Out of School Youth: 16-24 years old must meet one of the following barriers:

  • Received HS Diploma/equivalent; or
  • Low Income and Deficient in Basic Literary Skills; or
  • School Dropout or

  • in Foster Care or Aged-Out of Foster Care; or
  • Pregnant/Parenting; or
  • Offender; or
  • Subject to the Juvenile or Adult Justice System; or
  • has a Disability; or
  • Low Income and Needs Additional Assistance to Complete an Employment or Education Program.

Career & Transfer Services focuses on employment needs for currently enrolled students and alumni. Employer services can be provided at any of our campus locations, free of charge.

Qualifications for the Employer
Employers must have an appropriate business license, a Federal Tax Identification Number, unemployment insurance account and workers compensation number. All job announcement must be in compliance with Fair Labor Standards to be approved for posting.
Employers must not charge a fee to applicants.

Job Postings
Employers can post position through the CSN Career Link site. Please contact Career Services if you experience difficulty setting up an employer account at 702-651-5089.

Internships
Employers are encouraged to post internships with CSN CareerLink. Staff will help with linkages to the applicable CSN programs, match students to your business environment and provide guidance to students involved in your company’s internship program.

Job Fairs
Job fairs are offered at various campuses throughout the year. Please contact one of our offices if your company would like to participate in specialized job fairs or to be added to our mailing list. While events are free of charge, Career Services seeks sponsorship for our events. If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor, please contact Ryan Rishling
