Veterinary Nursing Program
The Veterinary Nursing Program provides students with extensive hands-on experience with many animal species as well as opportunities for clinical medicine and surgery during clinical rotations in the on-campus veterinary clinic.
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Nursing trains students to provide a wide range of support to veterinarians from diagnostic imaging, dental hygiene and medical laboratory services to anesthesia, behavioral and radiological assistance.
Graduates may sit for the Veterinary Nursing National Exam, which allows them to then sit for the Nevada Veterinary Technician Exam and other state licensing examinations.
Graduates can move on to further their veterinary education at other institutions or pursue positions working in private practice, zoo medicine, education, medical research, industrial veterinary medicine and more.
